UNK NBA Europe Limited has implemented a small rental service of the leading clothing business management solution Protex. With the company’s head office based in New York the London office produce and sells the NBA licenced apparel to the UK and Europe. The system manages sales order processing, purchasing, inventory and distribution.

UNK offer a unique collection of streetwear consisting of denim jeans, tops, outerwear and track suits inspired by the NBA, its teams and players. The clothing range consists of mens wear with the majority of customers being independent small retailers in the UK and Europe. Products are sourced from various manufacturers offshore.

The company previously managed the business using spreadsheets and other manual documents. As Juliana Rovai, Operations Manager at UNK NBA explains ‘We had been looking for a system for a while, but did not find the right solution until we met Datel. Our key requirements were that the system was user friendly, with a matrix at the core of the system as we need to manage products by colour, size and fit. The Protex ERP system provided us with these.”

Juliana continues, “Access to such leading edge technology for such a low number of users was achievable through the Datel ASP service – basically we rent the software and hardware from Datel for a monthly fee. If our usage or functionality requirements grow so does the cost. This is a very manageable method for our business as there is no huge upfront capital cost – we pay as we achieve ROI.”
